RIP Tom Smith of To Live and Shave in L.A.
Some art seems inevitable, like it needed to exist eventually and the right person just had to come along and make it happen.
And then there’s art like 30-Minuten Männercreme and The Wigmaker in 18th Century Williamsburg. Nobody saw this coming. Nobody asked for this. The existence of this music seems difficult to credit, even when you’re holding the CD in your hand and the sounds are coming out of your speakers.
No matter how many times you replayed human history, you’d never get Tom Smith again. He was ours, in our timeline only.
